26 Students attended the Ohio FFA Camp this summer.
Students enrolled in the Plant and Horticulture
class have been very busy in the Vo Ag greenhouse this winter and spring.
Students set up all hydroponic growing systems, planted seeds, maintained
proper growing procedures, and now are harvesting produce. Last week, students
started to harvest salad and cucumbers. The class has provided over 40
cucumbers to the high school lunches over the past week. They also had the
chance to try their own produce in class. Students will continue to manage the
greenhouse and hopefully harvest more salad, cucumbers, and cherry tomatoes.
This has been a great experience for students to take what they have learned in
the classroom and apply it to a hands on activity. It also allows them to
connect agricultural with our high school food services program.
